MU Pays Tribute to Dr. Fadl Bdeir
Al Maaref University (MU) held a memorial ceremony on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to commemorate the 40th day since the passing of its Secretary-General, Dr. Fadl Bdeir (2019–2026), honoring his distinguished legacy and commemorating his contributions to the University and its academic mission. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Bdeir's family, alongside members of MU's academic and administrative staff.
The event, held in the University's auditorium, opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a short documentary highlighting key milestones in Dr. Bdeir's academic and administrative career and the lasting positive impact he left on the University and among his colleagues.
During the ceremony, MU President Professor Ali Alaeddine delivered a tribute praising Dr. Fadl Bdeir's integrity, precision, discipline, commitment to institutional values, dedication to his responsibilities, and deep belief in the University's vision and mission.
Professor Alaeddine noted that the late Dr. Bdeir "was close to everyone. He listened to the concerns of staff members, respected their opinions, and believed that people are at the heart of everything. The affection he inspired was not because of his position, but because of his character and sincerity in dealing with others," adding, "Dr. Fadl left behind not only accomplishments and achievements, but also a legacy of values and principles, a school of management, and a model of responsibility."
The ceremony featured a Majlis of Mourning, followed by the presentation of a commemorative shield to Dr. Fadl Bdeir's family as a token of appreciation and gratitude. The event concluded with a luncheon held in honor of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
