The Kitab wa Turjuman Club, affiliated with the Translation and Languages Department at Al Maaref University, held its third annual ceremony in celebration of the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance). The event took place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the university campus in Beirut, in the presence of the Department Chairperson, Dr. Zeinab Anis Jaber, along with faculty members and students.

The ceremony included a presentation highlighting the club’s most notable achievements, the recognition of the previous administrative committee, and the election of a new committee.

The event began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Jaber, who emphasized the importance of the club’s activities. She stressed the need to approach the field of translation from a new perspective in light of the growing influence of artificial intelligence, calling for greater focus on dispelling misconceptions, exploring opportunities, and identifying gaps in this evolving landscape. She also expressed her appreciation to the administrative team and participating students for their dedication and efforts throughout the previous academic year.

A video presentation followed, showcasing the club’s major activities and cultural milestones during the past term. Subsequently, students Fatima Taher (Club President), Hawraa Rahma, and Rayhana Hijazi were elected by acclamation to the new administrative committee.

The ceremony also included a tribute to former committee members—Israa Termos, Fatima Al-Zahraa Hazimeh, and Nour Al-Zahraa Awde—in recognition of their distinguished contributions and their role in supporting the club’s mission. They received commemorative shields presented by the Department Chairperson.

The event concluded with a cultural competition inspired by the occasion, a raffle with prizes for the winners, the cutting of a celebratory cake, and a group photo session.
