“Code-it;” Club Kicks Off 2025–2026 Activities
The specialized “Code-it;” Club, in collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences (FoS) at Al Maaref University (MU), launched its activities for the 2025–2026 academic year through an interactive discussion with its members. The event was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the University’s Beirut campus (Building C), in the presence of students, graduates, and faculty members.
The event opened with a speech by the Head of the Computer Science Department, Dr. El Abed El Safadi, who highlighted the importance of active participation in the club’s activities. He noted that the club serves as a supportive and motivating platform for Computer Science students and all those passionate about knowledge and learning. Its goal is to strengthen students’ scientific skills, foster a spirit of research and discovery, and provide an interactive environment that enriches the educational experience beyond the classroom.
Dr. El Safadi also commended the efforts of last year’s student supervisors and encouraged new students to volunteer and contribute to this year’s initiatives.
During the event, the club’s current supervisors presented an overview of its mission, previous achievements, and upcoming plans. The meeting also offered a valuable networking opportunity between current students and four alumni of the Faculty—Saleh Marji, Haitham Ismail, Ali Ayoub, and Mohammad Zeitoun—who are now professionals in various fields, including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Mobile Application Development, and Web Development.
The “Code-it;” Club continues to serve as a vital hub for innovation and initiative, bringing together Computer Science enthusiasts to participate in workshops, research projects, scientific discussions, and specialized seminars under the guidance of distinguished faculty members and field experts.
