University Presidency
The university president is appointed by the Board of Trustees for a three-year term, renewable, provided that he is a professor and has practiced university teaching for at least fifteen years.
- Managing the affairs of the university and its affiliated councils, bearing full responsibility for their operations, and overseeing their proper functioning.
- Monitoring academic and administrative affairs, chairing university council meetings, making decisions related to the university's academic and administrative needs, organizing the academic year, and managing academic committees and examinations, ensuring integrity and efficient operation.
- Supervising the performance of faculties, deanships, and branches, and coordinating among them to ensure quality education and the implementation of approved programs, and addressing any overlap in responsibilities or procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and promoting good and transparent governance in all academic and administrative university affairs.
- Overseeing the university's financial affairs, including budget preparation, financial statements, signing contracts and agreements, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Representing the university before academic, educational, cultural, professional, and legal institutions and bodies both within and outside Lebanon.
- Encouraging scientific and research output and building partnerships and relationships that serve the university's mission and its role in serving the community.
- Supervising the evaluation of faculty and administrative staff members in terms of performance, competence, and potential for development, and supporting ongoing training and professional development programs.
